OUR COMMITMENT

WHY FIREFLIES ANTIPODES RIDE

Our commitment is to raise money to support life-saving research and treatment of leukaemia and cancers of the blood. We’d suffer anything for this cause – feeling how we do about it.

Snowdome's mission is to accelerate new therapies for Australian blood cancer patients to help them love longer, better lives.

One in three of us will be diagnosed with some type of cancer in our lifetime. It is believed that leukaemia is the model of all cancers and achieving a greater understanding of this disease will help in the fight against all other forms of cancer.

about us

Making hope real... the story so far

Many worthy Australian charities and foundations raise money for blood cancer research. Others collect donations that fund vital support services for cancer patients and their families.

The Snowdome Foundation is different.

Formed in 2010, Snowdome has a deliberate mission to improving outcomes for Australian men, women and children with blood cancers. We aim to ‘unlock new treatments’ by channelling government and private philanthropic investment into early phase human clinical trials of next-generation drugs and therapies.

In doing so, Snowdome is distinct, yet complementary, to existing efforts from other organisations supporting Australians with blood cancers (myeloma, lymphoma and leukaemia). Our work aims to fill a ‘gap’, rather than overlapping or replicating activities that support the urgent needs of patients with blood cancers in Australia.

To date, Snowdome has helped 245 Australian blood cancer patients gain access to new treatments through clinical trials. We have raised over AUD7 million with a very low expense base to ensure the vast majority of funds raised is direct to urgent research.

No other Australian organisation has this focus for blood cancer.
